Car Dead
2019 Discovery won’t start now. Trunk doesn’t open, driver dash, nav screen - nothing comes on. Headlights and interior lights come on, and no response to an attempt at jumping. Brake pedal is stiff as well. Almost seems like a security or immobilizer issue.
guess I will be flat bedding to the dealer in the morning. Can’t wait to see how long it takes them to figure this out.
anyone have any ideas?

What I can’t reconcile is why some of the electrics work fine and others are seemingly dead. Lights, locks, all work like nothing is wrong.
the trunk will close but not open automatically.
the brake pedal is stiff as a board.
and of course none of the screens come on/nothing happens when I get in and try to start it.
Seems like a bad fault would universally affect electronics?
Sounds like the ground stud recall to me. My 2019 D5 exhibited the exact same symptoms and was impervious to multiple attempts to start it with a "hot shot" the LR roadside contractor brought with him. towed, fixed and no issue ever since.
As an aside, I am absolutely appalled by the level of service I’ve received - especially considering I bought the car from them less than 3 weeks ago. I’m on hour 8 of trying to get LR Roadside to send the correct tow truck. The dealership has basically thrown their hands up, and then kicked me while I’m down by reminding me that they’re busy and it could be next week before they even put eyes on my car. On top of that, no loaners available (no surprise there). Thankfully/hopefully, it seems like a straightforward fix, so I hope they can rectify this and get me back on the road quickly. The babysitting that is required here to get a bare minimum of service is mind boggling. I always try to be overly polite in situations like this, but admittedly am starting to lose it...and the truck hasn’t even made it to the dealership.
Long story short, I will be finding another dealer in the area to deal with any warranty work and plan to use a reliable LR mechanic for everything else.
I had a similar problem. My 2017 Disco 5 Td6 one morning was totally dead. I could not even open the hood open (later I found out the cable was extended) so I had to find the battery in the back and jump it. I drove it for 20 minutes and checked the voltage on the battery, showing normal operation. I went to the dealer (could not get them on the phone) and they said it was probably the phone booster I had just installed a week earlier. I disconnected it and drove normally for 3 weeks, always checking my voltage. Then 5 days ago the car was completely dead once more. I jumped it the same way, drove it a bit, and checked the battery showing normal voltage (14.6 during operation). I took it to the dealer to do a thorough check on the battery and they did not find a problem.
I took the car in for service today, 5 days later after normal driving and towing a travel trailer (4900 lbs), and so far, toward the end of the day, they have not found a problem. They are keeping it another day to check for a parasitic draw on the battery.
I'll text them about the ground stud recall, even though it did not apply to a 2017 model.

First of all, you should post the name of that dealer that provides such poor service. Just be sure to post honest comments so they can't come back after you.
I can tell you that my LR Denver dealer is nothing like that. And my one time experience with LR roadside assistance answered my call in a few minutes and sent a top notch flat bed within an hour.
If you haven't had it towed yet, don't forget you'll need to disable the parking brake and get it into neutral. I've posted both procedures elsewhere on this website but don't know how find them. I've also printed the instructions on a card I keep in my console so I can find them if ever needed.

I will say that, once the car actually made it to the dealer, they were prompt. It arrived at the dealer around 4pm yesterday, and I was on my way home with the car by that same time today. They performed the ground stud recall at my direction and replaced the battery as well. That seems to have solved the problem - fingers crossed that’s the end of that. They didn’t have to run diagnostics or really troubleshoot because I sent them down that road to begin with, so not sure how much credit is due - but they fixed it and I’m glad they were able to get it done in 24 hours.
At the end of the day - do I think it taking 8 hours to send a tow truck driver is acceptable? No. Should the dealer have bent over backwards to address an issue that left me stranded on a car I bought 2 weeks ago? Probably not - but more could’ve been done. This recall was out months ago and obviously hadn’t been performed prior to CPOing the car. I don’t have a lot of sympathy for that, and for that reason feel that the dealer should’ve done more to make sure the car was towed promptly and that I had a loaner. Oh well.
