Question Converting a 5 Seater to a 7 Seater

Hi, I own a 5 seater 2018 Discovery that I bought 6 months ago. I just called the local dealer to ask if it was possible to have it converted from 5 seats to 7 seats i.e. adding in the third row of seats. It is an optional extra for 2,195 USD when ordering a new car, but the dealer (Land Rover Bellevue) said that they would not do it as an after market upgrade. Any ideas?

I would be surprised if they did it aftermarket because I seem to recall that it mean you would also get air suspension and a the upgraded transfer case. Maybe if you had those, they could...?

Ours have the electric foldable seats. No idea what would be required to retrofit the 3rd row, but it seems to be a lot of parts that will need to be swapped. May be much more than the option price for OEM parts to do it.
On other vehicles there are aftermarket options that end up much more doable and cheaper, though not as nice as OEM.

My rear seats are non-electric and I hardly ever use them. I would think it would be fairly straight forward unless it requires the things bchbum mentioned.

Thanks BchBum11511, my car does have air suspension fitted, so I guess I have to find a local car repair and service company to try and do it vs. Land Rover.

Thanks, yes, I would have to go for the manual lift up version as the electric version would be a lot more work.

Air suspension is part of the Capability Package, which is available in the 5-seater, but without a locking differential.

Hi friend!! Did you finally get the adaptation done? I'm working on it now. I've bought the parts and will receive them tomorrow. Greetings from Spain!
