Coolant level low - Error or problem?
Hi All,
I bought a 2l Discovery 5 in April 2022. For a good few months now, I've been adding coolant every other day, sometimes twice a day. JLR specialists had the system under pressure over night, and couldn't find any leaks or cracks. Ended up taking it to a different mechanic, who said it was likely to be the intake charge cooler. It was leaking Coolant into the intake manifold.
Drove it home (all fine) but a mile from home, the 'coolant low' warning light is back (50 mile drive). Opening the bonet/hood, the coolant isn't low, but the whole inside of the bonet/hood feels&smells very hot, although the engine temp gauge is 'normal' / 50%.
Any suggestions - already had a service and this repair this month, at over £1,500 cost, and it's driving me in sane!
Thanks in advance
