Default DEF Tip

At 7000 miles started getting the DEF refill warnings.

Wife took it to the dealer in Austin and came home with a receipt for $180. I nearly had a stroke. They charge $28 for each two liter bottle. It holds 4.8 gals.

Called Dallas dealer. They do a full refill for $49.

Since then I found the same ISO certified DEF on Amazon for $20 for 2.5 gals. Audi sells the two liter bottles for $12.

Even though the D V cost $75K I guess the still want to screw you on the consumables.

Much better margins

Haven't popped the hood to check, but is the refill spot obvious and easily accessed?

Right side under the hood. Easy to find. Easy to fill with a funnel

Buy Peak DEF at Pep Boys and get two 2.5 gallon containers until the end of the month BOGO free. I think they are about $15 each and it meets the ISO requirements. Also includes a refill hose, so no funnel required.

You should escalate this. It was highway robbery when Porsche/Audi charged $60 on the Cayenne and Q5.

Like others have said, the 2.5 gal jugs are cheap. Easy to do.

There is NO excuse for that charge.

I picked some up at Walmart as well, do you know what ISO standard they have to meet?

Sure there is; they charge $60 because people will pay it without knowing any better.

Not specifically. But I read the label pretty carefully and it said it met manufacturer specifications, blah, blah.

I've now gone through two or three of them with zero issues.
