Default Disco 5 on 18” wheels

Wanted to show off the Disco 5 on 18” wheels with General Grabber AT3 tyres 285/60/R18. Think it looks great and the ride on gravel is extremely smooth with lower air pressure. Next step might be to raise it be 2-4cm.

Unfortunately the air auspension faulted and now cannot raise to off-road setting - which will be fixed end of August. I hope that is a warranty issue as car is only 2018 model.

I have the 2.0L Sd4 engine and the factory brakes that are 349mm diameter front and 325 diameter rear according to spec.

Here is one from the side:

Got the Johnson rods and they have been installed - this is now the “new” off-road position.

Is it possible now to drive it in access height?

As soon as you go over whatever speed it will go back to normal height.... which will now be two over stock with the rods... I'm looking in to a programmer to ditch my rods... lose too much down travel when in off road modes with the rods... works great at "normal" drive height... they were cheap though and come on an off easy enough. So when i have the offroad wheelset on i put it on for "looks".. if i actually need to do something in an offroad mode, i just swap back to stock rods... luckily that is easy and quick.

That looks nice. Which wheels are those? I just purchased a Disco and have been on the hunt for second set. I was originally going to go with the wheels from Johnson Rods, but they don't appear to fit the L462.

If they are the compomotive wheels, they were designed to work with the regular V6 engine. I think they actually say they won’t work with the diesel version, but a guy on here bought them and uses them with his diesel. He had to grind down his break calipers a few mm I think.

Companies advertise they use larger discs and calipers for better stopping to tow...Even though I think it’s horsecrap for an off road company to use anything larger that won’t fit in 16” wheels. The tow better brake excuse sucks....design better calipers.

It is the compomotive wheels - I have diesel 2L Sd4. And got the Johnson Rods 1,5 inch lift kit. The wheels and tyres did fit though before the lift but now I should fit a bit larger or around 32”.
