Default Discovery 5 - Cleaning the air conditioning evaporator core / drain tubes

It's about a 30 minute job to foam your evaporator core & clearing your A/C drains.

Needed: 7mm socket, pipe cleaner, Evaporator core cleaner (there's many different brands. Klima Kleaner, Lubeguard, Frost King. My Frost King one didn't come with a red straw).

Remove side trim panel by the seat / center console. Pull the end of the panel out closest to the seat, and slide back (there's a hook on the front portion).

Remove three 7mm screws on underside panel. Remove panel.

Peel carpet back and look for the rubber drain tube.

Be careful pulling the tube itself, if it's weathered, it will rip. Use the pull tab to undo & remove off the plastic evap drain nipple

Use the pipe cleaner to brush gunk out the tube. The bottom of the tube is at a 90 degree angle so you won't be able to push the pipe cleaner thru. Use some compressed air to ensure the drain isn't clogged.

Use your evap cleaner can to spray foam up into the plastic nipple. I used a gloved finger to cover the hole and sprayed for 10-15 seconds. You can repeat on the other side.

Let car sit, the foam will liquefy and drain out the tubes.
