Looking to jump to a new year model and there are ZERO that have what I want in them and not at a drastically increased price. What’s the gas drive like because frankly I love my diesel and at one point didn’t like the gas but that would be the only option. I’ve never towed with the gas which is my main concern.

2021 Disco models are not out yet and will have very different engine options from 2017-2020. Are you looking for 2021? What options are important to
you?

I was looking at a 2019 used not a 2021. Can’t really justify the price. Basically pretty shocked at what my 2017 HSE will trade-in for.

i Like the air ride suspension, diesel, towing package. I’m just wondering what going to a gas would be like.

I have a 2020 Discovery Gas V6 340 horsepower. I love the power, plenty of torque and towing has not been a problem. I bought a CPO with 8200 miles, 5 yr and 100000 warranty. Love the vehicle.

BTW, With a certified pre-owned, you can extend warranty to 7 years. Stress free living.

Also, air suspension is nice but sooner or later it will fail and cost $$$. Friend had air suspension fail twice now. I got the coil suspension even though not as smooth but more reliable.

I have the gas and it has plenty of power.
No, not like an old school v8 or diesel where there is more power off idle, but as the gas revs easy and has a supercharger that helps from low rpm by 2k it’s got plenty of pull and unlike the diesel it keeps pulling.
I guess if you tow very heavy stuff or so extremely technical off road courses where it’s easier if you have low down torque then the diesel is better, but other than that...
Personally I hate diesels as they aren’t as smooth and take forever to warm up and I just don’t do enough miles to get my money back on them for years, throw in high sulphuric diesel in the US and DEF and well, frankly no thanks. But that’s entirely personal, others love theirs.
No-one knows if it has enough torque for you other than you. Bear in mind torque is also deceptive, the gas accelerates faster no matter what your butt dyno tells you.

I have the gas engine... Tow a 6,500lb trailer regularly with zero issues. My Disco has the trailer package so I was able to install an electric trailer brake with ease. Wiring harness is tucked up under the dash. Still uses a Ford adapter harness to connect to the brake.

Is the default 7 years as I did see one where it looked like it was 6 years 100k miles (based on model year 2018 and assuming in service date was 2017). So if some are 6 years can one then extend to 7 years?

I don’t think there is a default but minimum is 5 year and 100,000 miles for CPO.

I’ve seen dealers advertise 6 and 7 years for CPO but probably depends on model, year and miles in CPO.

If you have the 5 years and 100,000, you can add another year or two of warranty at an additional cost.
