Turn ignition on. Press menu button on steering wheel. Then navigate left and right through the menus, down to go into them. Think it's 'vehicle info' and 'next service'

If you have an iPhone there's a great app called Land Rover iGUIDE that gives you an easily searchable user guide on your phone (prob an android version too?)

Going from memory here, but I believe if you turn the ignition fully on, you've gone too far.
I think you need to turn on the ACC (press the start button without pressing the brake pedal) and then follow the steering wheel menu steps that BritCars described.
