Do it. They are amazing as long as you don’t do lots of short city type drives. Change the oil every 5k-7.5k or once per year.

I found a good looking used one with 30k miles. The rear rotors are shot which makes me think it was driven mostly in town. Its records show many oil changes. I wonder if the particulate filter will clean itself out since I will use on long highway trips. Is there a EPA mandated warranty on the emissions system?

Do it. I would not the the supercharged v6. Had one as a loaner. I was literally awful on fuel mileage. We have a 2018 TD6 for a few months. Infotainment is kinda buggy. Wish it was in better shape. We are third owners and it’s. FL car. Slim options so it is what it is. At 45k miles now. Warranty is up in Oct. praying nothing happens to it lol

take if for a 30-40 mile hwy cruise and it should clean out, or tow something to get that turbo spoiling and the exhaust system really hot. I believe the emissions warranty is 8 years.

Just bought a Discovery 5 3.0 DSL 2022 and find the diesel consumption is brilliant. Can't fault it at all.

Out 2019 with just 2 months left on the factory warranty ( I bought an aftermarket 25 000- and 2-year warranty) engine just died. Done. The great news, unlike any other dealer I have dealt with. No questions, no interrogations, simply took 2 weeks to get JLR to approve the engine replacement. I bought it wiht 25 miles. EVERY week it went on a 100-mile interstate cruise round trip for 200 miles on each Friday. Very little in city use.

They never said. BUT they were super easy to work with. Love my service department. Tons of minor issues with the 2020 Defender we had. A few with the Jag F-Pace and now this 2019 TD6. But Richfield MN Land Rover and especially Kristine = AMAZING

I came from a 2016 LR4 SCV6 that got 15mpg average into a 2018 Disco5 TD6. I love the car, love the refinement, it's very smooth. I do wish it could corner a bit better at speed. Still miles better than the LR4 in that department, but it does so by giving up the articulation the LR4 had.

We do a lot of trips between Utah and California and I still get 22-23mpg with Goodyear Duratracs fitted driving between 85-90mph for 9 hours straight. Love the turbo diesel for that! Bought it with 30K miles, now have 50K with no real issues at all. All I've done is clean the MAP sensor, do regular maintenance, and run some of the Hot Shots Diesel Extreme at each oil change.

In saying all of that, I may be one of the few people that feels like the engine is a bit lacking. I live at 7000ft in Utah, and occasionally tow a 5500lb trailer. When doing so, it feels to me like the engine is dead. Every medium size uphill (not one of the big mtn passes out here) it will drop 15-20mph and never come back from it. I figured with 440+ ft/torque in the turbo diesel that would never be a problem. It got a slight bit better after the MAP sensor clean, but I bought it to have a better towing experience than I did with the LR4. So far, they've been about equal in towing which is really strange to me. I love everything else about it so I'm trying to figure out if this is just the way it's meant to be, if something's wrong, and/or if I'd be happy trying out something like the velocity AP tune people seem to have good luck with.
