Leak
I took my car that I'm selling to get a couple of rock chips fixed in the windscreen and the tech ended up cracking it, so now the entire windshield is getting replaced. And I'll probably need to do this again when I get my Disco.
With a brochure stating how a crack repair "might" crack or worsen and that they would refund the cost of the repair in case I needed a replacement. But yes, and the tech acted like he didn't make things way worse.
My local dealer group has a Safelight service center on property, so I called them up and told them the other Safelight office did me wrong and they are sending someone out to replace it with OEM glass. BTW, the OEM endorsement on your insurance is worth the $25 a year. Earlier in the year I hit a large rock that was dropped by a construction truck on the freeway and it did $9000 worth of damage to the underside of my BMW and every part was replaced by the dealership with OEM, new stock.

I couldn’t find any indication that they offered the OEM endorsement and asking the chat person did not really get me a definitive answer. But a Google search also did not show anything. I guess my biggest turn off was the lack of knowledge from the sales people I spoke to, and maybe I’m old school but my Farmer’s agent is on my side when I need to deal with them. I know he’ll go to bat to make sure that they treat me well. Now that’s not saying that Progressive is bad, but I didn’t want to risk it even though the savings were substantial.
AFAIK your auto insurance won’t work like the stuff they sell at the dealership, but it almost is always not worth it. With an auto policy, comprehensive coverage will be for events like hitting a rock in the roadway like I did. That would have covered a wheel of it had been damaged. But the dealer will usually cover cosmetic damage that you can, depending on where you live, find a local shop that can repair most minor damage to the wheel for $100-$150. Which is why I don’t think the dealer plan is worth it unless you want the convenience. But take this advice with a grain of salt, like most advice on the Internet 😂 I’m not even an expert on my own insurance and there may be different options from different companies that I don’t know about.
