Finally got round to installing the LLAMS electronic lift kit. Since the D5 is my wife's daily I wanted to keep it stock for daily driving duties and only raise it when needed. The LLAMS kit seemed perfect for the job.
I will post more pics later, but basically it took me about 2.5 hours to figure it out. The kit instructions were a bit minimal and for a RHD. Since mine is a 2019 HSE Lux LHD I had to adapt a few things.
The side panel was a bitch to get off, as it has the hood release handle in it. Thankfully I had the workshops manual to see there is some special clip on the hood release. Also since mine has the Smart Key receiver on one side of the steering column and the steering wheel adjustment know on the other side - I had to improvise and fit the LLAMS know in the coin holder. Out of sight, but I figured easy enough to feel and use. I kept the defat settings on the unit.
The LLAMS has 4 settings on the ****.
1 - Lower - hav not tested how much lower when suspension is on Normal ride height
2 - Off - Does not alter the height
3 - High - Measured and it added 1" front and rear on top of the Offroad height setting on the D5
4 - Max High - Measured it to be 2" or so over the Offroad height for both front and rear (maybe closer to 2" front and 1.75" rear)
Will measure some more and get pics when it is out of the garage.
Some attached pictures
Clip that you need to pull/push out from the hood lever to get the handle of to get the side panel removed.
Fuse on the passenger side - #54 - Diagnostic IIRC - behind glovebox
To drop glovebox you need to push these clips down and then pull it out completely. There is also a soft release rod on the door side that you need to unclip.
The 2 plugs you need to pull out by releasing the yellow levers. The LLAMS harness plugs into these circuits.
So this is a more high tech way of achieving what a Johnson rods do but on a way that lets you decide to have the Jhonson rods active or not on a whim?

Pretty much, it allows you to drop the suspension or raise it an inch or so and then another. At the turn of a switch.
The Jonson rods manually manipulates the sensors where the LLAMS plugs in electronically.
I wanted an adjustable option sine the D5 has an electronic air suspension.
I'm assuming the raising is the same as the Extended Mode and Super Extended Mode the car has normally, you can normally only get in to Extended Mode and then Super Extended Mode though if the car says you need to as it can damage the airbags if used too much?
I was thinking of getting this.
So, with your settings, when you set it to your high, it is automatically 1 inch over whatever mode you are in? So it'd be one inch over normal in normal mode and one inch over offroad in offroad mode?... or is it static and doesn't change with the modes anymore?
I have lift rods i take on and off (i keep them in glove box)... i like it 2 inches over normal mode for regular driving... but if I am going to go in offroad mode, i remove the lift rods because it puts it 2 inches higher than offroad mode and makes it ride like doodoo and you loose a ton of droop and lift tires a lot more... if i could lock it 2 inches higher all the time i would... offroad mode lowers back to normal at 51mph though... if i could set this to high and be 2 inches over stock in normal all of the time, regardless of speed... and them turn the llams box to "off" when in an offroad mode and just be the normal stock 2 inches higher while in offroad mode.
I think thay made sense anyway. Changing rods isnt hard but i think I'd rather have this... whats the cost on it?

Not 100% sure, but there are some switches on the box where you can set the highest mode to be the super extended mode aka the highest the suspension will allow you to go.

I need to go measure properly in the future as I just took some quick measures. In the settings I used is for high to be 60mm raised. From the manual
"For HIGH to be +60mm, set sw1 on, sw2 off, sw3 on. This is the preferred and pre-calibrated / default option. For HIGH to be OR2 height, set sw1 off, sw2 on, sw3 on."
Modes
"Green – lowered
OFF – no height change selected or module is in LOCKED mode (LLAMS height changes inhibited)
Orange – medium raised
Red – high raised"
Per their manual medium is 30mm and high is 60mm, lowered is 20mm lower. It is supposed to keep these height settings irrespective of speed. One of the uses for the Ozzie market is to raise it for the high speed tracks and not drop once you reach 30 or 40mph form the stock off-road mode.
I got this kit for the versatility and being able to have it run stock height everyday and only raise when needed.
I paid AUS$540 with shipping a year ago. I had to contact LLAMS in Oz directly to get the kit. Was sitting in my garage for over a year.......
Sorry to revive this thread. It's been two hours and I still can figure out how to get to the clip on the hood release handle. Did you use a pick tool or some other means?
Also, I'm assuming the coin holder pops out of the dash and there is how you were able to mount your switch? That's where I plan on mounting mine also.
