Default Looking to buy a 18 diesel disco V

Anything to look out for for reliability? I知 looking at this one. Seems to have been a problem child that got sent back then fixed I assume given the car fax. Car fax said it was lemon law. What could have cause it coming back? Random stuff or anything trending. I知 a car guy I work on my own vehicles and will be looking into tuning the diesel for more mpg and power. The whole DEF thing seems dumb to me. https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/d...20200522489954

Depends on the state. Would have to look at the lemon law statutes. I love my 2017 diesel. Love it. Call in and do some digging on the warranty. If it痴 good then go for it. A lot of times a lemon is a single component that keeps failing. It can also be much worse so just make sure you cover your basis.

I would find out exactly what the prior issues were (can you tell from carfax?) and then post back with what you learn

Ask for the full report from Landrover. They will send it to you. They will also prolly take 35K too. I was looking for one and looked at a couple lemon buy backs. Only Landrover will give you fair market value if later you trade it in..... Anyone else won't touch it, or give you 2 or 3 K.

I bought a 2017 HSE Lux TD6. I love it. I do my own maintenance. if you get one, I'll share all the info I've collected.

Good luck!

I bought a 2017 td6 buy back or as LR says re-acquisition. Had an issue 100 miles from the dealer, got it fixed and it's been a great truck since. I use it daily and pull a 6k boat/trailer through the hills of virginia without a problem. It's probably not for you if you only keep vehicles 2 or 3 years. But my last tahoe I had for 8, my pickup for 7 so i expect when i finish with this it will be 2025.

Thanks for the input! I ended up grabbing a CPO 2017 with 24k miles. It was too much of a gamble to do the lemon one.

Brand spanking new to this forum. Just started research on a 2011 ish LR4 or a 2019 ish TD6 HSE. I am a current Toyota Tundra owner who does all my own basic maintenance, moving to a SUV for camping purposes (solo so no need to get out and climb in to sleep). I'm leaning towards the diesel but I am worried I won't be able to work on it - how is regular/routine maintenance on a diesel?

pretty easy if your at all handy. Oil changes 8K, Do fuel filter every other oil change. a good 30 minute highway trip once a week for the def regen. I get all parts on rockauto.
