Default LR Factory Extended Warranty...

Friend of mine is purchasing her lease and would like to purchase the LR factory extended warranty. She was quoted a price which I believe is a bit high. Does anyone on here know what the cost would be for a two or three warranty through LR?

I think it's heavily dependent on model, year, options selected (ie MSRP), and current mileage. Deductibles and will impact the price. I wasn't able to find info on an extended LR manufacturer warranty in the USA.

She should be able to get quotes from multiple warranty companies too. I was told to avoid companies with the word shield in them.

My comprehensive/"Supreme" warranty for a 2018 Discovery 5 HSE with 37k miles that still had some original warranty was about $5k USD. It was through Nissan's warranty program, QualityGuard Plus. Expires in Nov 2028 or 112k miles (5yrs 75k additional miles)

Fidelity was charging $6.7k for a similar level of coverage.

Beware that 5 year 75k mile extended warranty is really for an additional 75k miles and not 75k on the odometer.
Ditto with the 5 years: from date of purchase of warranty or from end of factory warranty. Those extended warranties can be deceptive.

Depends on the dealer. It's a negotiation. Typically around $1000-1500 per year. Note that it's not a LR warranty but a third party that they will sell in that situation. So the coverage, terms and exclusions will depend on the company they have selected to work with

True on negotiation. They quoted me at $5.2k while I was buying the vehicle. I asked if they could do $5k and they agreed. They also said I didn't have to buy the warranty at the same time as the car.

Friend is being quoted $4800 for two years 24k miles with $100 deductible and $6700 for 5yrs no deductible on a 2019 Discovery Sport. Both seem ridiculously high to me even for what they are referring to as a "factory extended warranty".

BEFORE she purchase the lease, have the vehicle CPO. Once you purchase the lease, you can't CPO the vehicle anymore. CPO is better than any warranty sold by the dealer. Not sure how much will it cost, but ... is a better warranty.
