Default The mods begin...

Got the base Front Runner Slimline II rack installed last week and today had the custom c pillar wrap my son and I designed. We mocked it up ourselves, then had it done professionally today. The installer went with a base black vinyl, then added clear on top. The matte black edge stripe matches the look of the rubber around the doors and windows.

Lights coming for the front and rear of the rack soon. And wheels when I can find someone with 20” wheels to swap or 18” to buy. I’ll post more as it develops.
The matte stripe seals the edge and finishes the look.
Love how they started the door sill stripe under the mirror.

Look awesome! How is the wind noise with the rack?

Default Wind noise

It’s definitely noisier. I’m not going to fiddle with anything until I put the lights up, hopefully next week. Once I have them up, I’ll start playing around with adjustments to try to minimize the wind noise.

Looks amazing.

Keep us posted on how you wire the lights up and where you locate the switch!

Got the lights up and partially installed. Still need to figure out how to get them into the cabin. Anyone have any experience?

Now THAT’S better.

Sweet!! Most people drill a hole through the roof and seal it up.

My spouse would freak at me drilling into the new truck. Will have to find another way.

It would be the long route, but one that I'd probably take.

Run the wiring along the rack to the rear of the truck and enter through the tailgate. There are multiple entry points for wiring there and all have seals/grommets to prevent water ingress. Once inside the vehicle you can run it along the floorboards under the carpet to the front.

I did this on a former Grand Cherokee I had with great success.

I'm curious as to where to locate the switch.

Ended up going with a Trigger wireless controller. Trigger

Used the Trigger wiring; just transferred the KC Hilites connector to the end of the wire. Found a nice spot to secure the controller and a switched fuse slot in the box. For the time being I’m keeping the wireless switch in the central armrest..lots of options for the switch panel since it’s a magnetic mount.

Have three more ports available. Will add a rear light eventually.

Controller mounted.
Wiring.
Outer connection.

Are you still running the wiring down through the A pillar? Or is it completely wireless?
