Default My Disco's Got the Blues

The formerly black plastic pieces in front of the sideview mirrors on my 2020 Disco have turned blue. My mechanic said he's seen that a number of times. I can't decide if I'm pissed at yet another example of a defect that even Yugos managed to avoid. Or if I like the coloration.
But really? LR doesn't know how to color plastic? And odd that it's only those pieces with the problem.

Working in the plastics industry. As soon as mine turned purple, I knew the answer. They cheeped out on their UV stabilizer.

I like the unique color, and it don't throw a CEL.

I've noticed it on all the pre 21 D5's. I talked to a company that does wraps and was told it could be covered which is what I will do if I end up in one.

I have it on my '17 HSE. Have trained my mind to not notice it, haha!

I've got the blue mirrors on my 18. The rest of the truck is blue anyway. So yeah... no problem.

I had painted mirrors on my old HSE Lux, nor did any of the gloss plastic trim turn that purpleish-blue color. Bear in mind, That car spent most of its like parked in the garage during my ownership.

That being said, the outer rim of the mirrors on my Defender have turned a bit purple, but just the outer rim. None of my A, B, and D pillar trim has gone purple, as those have all had PPF installed over them.

I agree. It seems to offer a more classy look. Weird it's just those pieces. Different supplier, perhaps.

I've tried to take a picture several times. It always looks black no matter where I take the pic. With the eye, in light they look deep blue/purple.

I thought it was a design feature when I bought mine 😂🤷 I'm sticking with it. It's pretty subtle.
