No start / no dash display after battery replacement
After replacing the battery in my 2018 Discovery, the dash remains dark and there is no response from the Start button. The interior lights, remote fob, door locks, etc., work fine.
I have verified the new battery is fully charged and tested all fuses and relays.
I would appreciate any suggestions to help resolve this situation.

When I changed my 2017 D5 Si6 battery 2 years ago I had no issue at all. If your connections are tight and all looks good I would suggest you disconnect the battery for 30 minutes or so and try again.
I disconnected the battery for an hour, cleaned up the ground connections, and tightened the cables, but there was no change. I appreciate the suggestion.
Sad ... another try ... put a batterie charger (or power cables from another car batterie) on the power input in the front engine power point (the small box with a + sign) and ground .
this has enabled power on the dashboard for me, I don't know why
good luck

Thank you for the suggestions. We charged the battery to 100% and jumped with another battery using booster cables connected to the two underhood boost terminals, but nothing changed.

Hi, did you get any resolve on this issue? I got a similar issue on my D5 2017 model. It started with a camera system fault error, and after a while the dash board and touch screen turned dead. No respons when pushing the start button. Coupe light, rear door and key lock/unlock was working fine. After a while the dash was working again and I was able to start the car. But the same issue came and went for many days, I got the car to the garage without finding the reason. They checked the most obvious earthing points without finding any fault. The car has now been fine for a couple of weeks, but I’m not confident that the issue doesn’t come again.
My best guess is that there is a wire some place that has even a bad connection or are occationary grounded, but to find that one in one in a million…
Appreciate to hear if anyone found any similar fixes!

We tried everything recommended and in the shop manual with no luck. Ended up towing it to the local Land Rover dealer. They were stumped as even their factory diagnostic equipment couldn't communicate with the vehicle.
They replaced the new battery, anti-theft control unit, and another ECU for over $3,000 and it's been fine since.

Mine is still working without any actions, but I'm not quite confident that it will stay that way. The diagnostics does not indicate any fault...
As an electrical engineer (not mechanical) I'm aware that low voltage systems is quite sensitive to voltage changes and grounding issues, and I have also read on other forums that the earting lugs has been a problems with this cars that can generate similar issues that we have had. Actually some 19-20 US models have been recalled to change the battery ground stud due to a welding failure. I'll take it to a garage and change the main ones and hopefully that will keep the car healthy :-).

Thanks for the response, and drive safe and comfortable the Disco-way!

Do you have a link or title on the topic you're writing above? I'm not able to find it...
Thanx in advance.
