Oil Change intervals - 2020 Discovery Landmark
Hello All,
I'm new to this forum. I have recently bought a 2020 Discovery Landmark gas engine;the car currently has 32K miles. I'm planning to do the next oil change myself.
1. Could someone please tell me the Oil Change schedule for this vehicle? (How often? every how many miles?)
2. Could someone please tell me the Motor Oil I need to buy? Pls post a link to the actual product.
Thank you!

Oil Change intervals - 2020 Discovery Landmark
Thanks you @LR disco 5
I also tend not to trust the manual, as in many cases it is used promote their own products which cost an arm and a leg while an equivalent or even better one would cost much less.
I'm hoping someone with an equivalent vehicle to mine would share what Motor Oil they use and how often?
I link to the product is appreciated.
Thanks!

Mine is a 2017 Si6 (gas engine).
Spec calls for 0W-20 oil meeting STJLR.51.5122
I use Liqui Moly LM20408 Special Tec LR Engine Oil from FCPEuro.
There are a couple other oils available that meet the STJLR.51.5122 spec. Mobil 1 does not list this spec last time I checked.
I change my oil at 5K mile intervals. The manual and the computer would have me do it around 16K mile intervals.

There is some misinformation and confusion floating around in this thread. Looks like you're in FL/USA, which means you have the AJ126 V6 supercharged motor. OE spec's 16k oil change intervals (OCI) but I do mine at 7500-9k miles.
I send my used oil in for analysis to Blackstone labs, and at my change intervals there is still a good amount of active additive left. It also lines up with other services, mileage wise. Here is my last UOA:
The current oil spec is STJLR 03.5006, which superceeded STJLR 51.5122 (although you can still use this spec).
Liqui-moly Top Tec 6600 meets the new spec, and is available on Amazon for a very reasonable price. You'll need 8L which is about 8.5 quarts.
Your oil filter needed is an OX774D made by Mahle/Clevite. They are the OE manufacturer for the filters.
You don't need to get under the car at all for a change - there is a oil suction port under the fill cap you can use to evacuate the oil. Filter access is up top as well.
These three tools are extremely convenient for changes on the disco:
Mityvac 7201 Manual Fluid Evacuator Plus with 2.3 Gallon Reservoir; Evacuates or Dispenses Fluids with Push Button; Evacuate Through The Dipstick Tube Motivx Tools MX2325-US 88.5mm / 90mm 15 Flute Precision CNC Machined Oil Filter Wrench Compatible with Land Rover and Jaguar 3.0L and 5.0L Gas Engines Motivx Tools Engine Oil Funnel for Ford Vehicles with 1/4 Turn Oil Filler Caps

Hi @462disco
Thank you so much for taking the time to write a detailed post with images. This is exactly what I needed to know and greatly appreciated.
I indeed live in Florida and have a 2020 Discovery Landmark ( 3.0L V6 F DOHC 24V ) gasoline engine, All wheel Drive.
1- I'm thinking about changing the oil every 13k-14k (as opposed to 16k), would this be OK?
2- Is this the "suction port" you are referring to:
3- Would I be OK buying a non OEM oil filter like this one from AutoZone?

Thanks in advance!

And it does do something for me: it makes me feel good.
To each his/her own.
