Reliability
#11
I’ve had a 2019 diesel that was in the shop the crankshaft broke fortunately it was still under warranty. Otherwise that would’ve been a $15,000 repair replace in the engine. It also died another time do the throttlebody issues on the road. Otherwise it was fine. We now have a 2022 HSE our dynamic and a 2023 metropolitan. Both of them have small quirks including a pillar rattles and a compressor sound most likely a compressor for the air suspension on the 2022. I’ve also had one or two LR threes in the past and an LR4 and a jaguar. F pace 2021. I’ve also had about 20 other brand new cars and 30 other cars total. In short the land rovers aren’t that bad they’re on par with jeep in my experience. Which is true according to surveys. In general they certainly seem to be in the shop more than almost any other brand I have owned. I would absolutely make sure my first JLR product was under factory warranty. I do buy extended warranties on these. The service at our dealership makes up for all of it. That’s why we’re still buying them. The ride is impeccable if you want luxury comfort height and almost a Lincoln like ride. But with more weight and more visibility. And more off-road capability. And yet still that luxury field. In short if you have a good dealer it will still be worth all the minor headaches
