Anyone who has mounted a non Land Rover roof rack to their Discovery 5 yet?

Oddly enough, I have it on good authority that the Boys over at www.lucky8llc.com will have one out in 2 weeks for the Discovery 5.

How do we find parts for the discovery 5 on lucky 8’s website? When I look I don’t see a link for our vehicle yet.

I'm curious about the rack from Lucky8 too.

Give them a call 716-898-8153 best bet as I don't think they have the website updated yet.

Front Runner has a rack for them, I have mounted it yet but I have used FR in the past and they have quality products

I installed a FrontRunner 'Slimline 2' about a month ago. Overall I'm very happy with, and can't wait to put it through its paces come camping season. Well built and well thought out.

Install was fairly easy and I was able to do it myself. There are a lot of bolts, so be sure to use a drill/driver with torque control. The caps on the OEM roof rails were a pain to remove.

The mounts sit on 'sleeves' that hold it ~1/2" over the roof rails. It looks like these could be ground down to drop the overall height, but I'd check the sunroof clearance first. May not be worth the effort to gain ~1/4"

There is some wind noise, which I expected and is within what I'd consider 'normal' for a rack. There are two wind deflectors under the front of the rack and I found pushing them ~1" apart seems to help mitigate some of the noise.

That looks great!
Any chance for more pics? Would really love to see it in profile to assess the height over the rails.

Sidebar question: Any idea if I could use a Yakima Skybox with this? The Skybox has clamps underneath that would have to fit between the "slats" in the rack to mount onto. I wasn't sure if there was room enough between the slats (or if they are adjustable) to make it work.

The slats are ~3-1/2" x 1", with 4-1/2" gap between. They're not infinitely adjustable, but can be mounted w/o the gap so they create a 'solid' platform. I bet you could also drill the sidebars too if you needed a specific gap.

Not sure about the Skybox clamps, but I had a Yakima box years ago and those probably could've worked.

I'll try to get some more pics later.
