Default Sound system..

Anyone upgrade?
I already have the top of the line factory, but find myself wanting better sound.
Apparently LR uses mostly fiber optic cables so it isn't as easy as I thought.
Sub is rather muddy so....

Looks like even Crutchfield doesn't have any options for the D-5 yet...
Oh well...I guess I am glad I have the upgraded system to begin with.

I have the upgraded system too and I like it.
I have sometimes noticed that one of the speakers in the door buzzes a little on some music, but not all.
The other speakers don't do this.
Is this something I can have fixed under warranty?

Just curious. Have you spent time really adjusting bass, treble, sub, fader, tried switching audio modes between the 4 variants? Depending on the tune, I have had significant smiles doing that. For example, I tend to run the fader just behind the front seats even when it's just the wife and I in there.

Now, if this is just the bumpers don't buzz? Can't help ya!

I would think so...I have had issues with other brands and parts were replaced under warranty.

Oh yes. I consider myself an audiophile. I fine tune everything! Even my daughter and son in laws TV when they weren't looking! I spent over 4K on my boat system and I don't listen to music unless it is sounding perfect. The system on the D-5 isn't bad.....I suspect the amp is undersized, and the sub is not up to the task.

Some music is just fine even when quite loud but there must be some frequencies that make that one speaker buzz Most of my settings are set to midrange but the treble is boosted a bit. It’s not the subwoofer that buzzes but it’s the larger speaker in the lower part of one door.

I think my sound system is great otherwise. But my convertible BMW can blast me right out of my seat even with the top down. I think I could make myself go deaf. But it feels great.

Thats the thing with a good amp and a good sub. It doesn't have to be overly loud to sound good. If you can feel the punch of a drum or the bass without blowing your ears out it's good. Underpowered amps....which most vehicles have are fine for most people, but not for me.

Flip side is I have a 900W system in my 442 and 720W in my Tacoma that do eat this Meridian's lunch. But, given the conversion hassles doing a custom system in the LR, I'll take the Meridian.
