Default SUV in for service after one week. Any suggestions / coaching on list below?

1. No seat fold screen on Pivi unit and mobile app (I have a separate post on this - thanks for everyone's input)

a. Also, question, I see other Discovery’s and the owner’s manual with a button in cargo area with “fold all seats down” Did I miss getting this option?

2. Instrument cluster out of sync with gear shifter:

a. “Hold” not working all the time

b. Cluster will show in “park” when really in “drive”. Please see my video.

3. I have set up profiles for me and my wife. After a few days they are missing in the Pivi system

4. “Need service” on LR Remote mobile app, it was showing 15K miles due for service for first 3-5 days.

5. Center diff lock / unlock shows / changes on Pivi screen, can repeat while in park.

Hard to repeat….

6. Lane keep assist warns keep hands-on at highway speed when hands are on it.

7. 10-15 second lock-up on Pivi screen, then backlogged commands execute.

Sounds mostly like bugs in the new Pivi system and that’s not unexpected. They’ll sort them out with updates as the months go by. JLR always release things with too many bugs which sucks for their reputation. I won’t buy an all new LR product until the 3rd model year, and at least the 2nd for a new media system. I really like the new big screen on the refreshed Defender and the cool new features it has but I’ll settle for my more stable and bug fixed older screen.

You may find more info on those on the New Defender section of this forum as they got the Pivi system first.

As for your seat folding via app, the latest remote app (white app icon) doesn’t have the feature available (at least not for me) but the old version of the app (black app icon) does.

These are basically the bugs on the new system but they'll fix it eventually

I submitted a build lately and remember asking what the intelligent seat fold option was. I was told it synchronized the moving of seats (like advancing the fronts ) during a rear fold.

Not sure if it may relate to that.

Thanks for the feedback! After the dealer broke the entire audio system and after the second visit, here is where we are at:

1. No seat fold screen on Pivi unit and mobile app I was told I did not get this option. So the only way to put the 2nd row down is via the boot/trunk switches.

2. Instrument cluster out of sync with gear shifter. Appears fixed.

3. I have set up profiles for me and my wife. After a few days they are missing in the Pivi system. Fixed.

4. “Need service” on LR Remote mobile app, it was showing 15K miles due for service for first 3-5 days. Dealer blaming LR HQ cloud. May be fixed in the next few days.

Glad to see you had several things fixed. I was curious about the answer you got for 1 so did some digging and looks like it is now an option (formerly it would come standard if you had chosen the powered seven seat configuration, but looks like JLR decided to pull a Spirit Airlines move and charge $300 on top of what you are paying for the power third row to activate a couple lines of code...). I find this absurd, I mean it is freaking software (I would not think any hardware would be needed to make that work)!. Unfortunately, par for the course in the "luxury" vehicles segment, I guess we should all thank Porsche for that. I would ask the dealer if there is a way to activate the function (and get JLR to do so complimentary given your trouble of taking the car for service after one week....).

Juanci and forum members, thanks for the input, as always!

The mystery continues....

Going in for the third visit to address 2nd Row 60% will not fold up from trunk/boot buttons. Any ideas on this?

On the missing head unit control of the seats:
  1. Dealer has been great to work with.
  2. Dealer thinks there is a build problem, as the build sheet has electric 3rd row for $300 and not $1800 per LR USA web page.
  3. LR USA has provided no direction as of yet.
Other observations:
  1. Trunk buttons. Single touch for third-row seat brings the seat down. I have to hold the button down for the second row to fold flat - why?
  2. Second-row seat buttons will move seat from flat to up. Weird you can't use them to get the seat flat.
  3. I looked at HSE stickers/pictures on LR USA web. It included an electric third row and via pictures has the all fold button, which I do not have.
  4. I can not find one sticker that has an intelligent seat fold option for $300. My sticker did not have this option. But reading the option description on LR USA, I think I have it, as when using third-row buttons the second-row moves forward. When using second-row buttons, first-row seats move forward.

    • Head unit control of seats
    • Mobile app control of seats
  3. Manual is incorrect on buttons in boot
    • Third-row simple press brings the seat up or down
    • Second row, need to hold the button for down, simple press for up

As I said before Spirit Airlines level nickeling and diming. Have you asked if the head unit and mobile app control can be retrofitted? I assume it is simple software activation.

Yes - Spirit Airlines, I love it!

- Waiting for an answer from the dealer on option acivation.
- My last issue to solve, and now on my 4th visit to the dealer is second-row seats(60) will get stuck folded flat and will not come up until the start button pushed or my vehicle is started via the start button. Dealer has been awesome every step of the way.
