Default Tailgate alignment

While washing the car, I’ve noticed that the left vertical gap is a bit larger on the left side than the right which is a much tighter gap.
I played with rotating in the rubber ***** on the inside of the tailgate thinking they were preventing it from closing tightly on the left but that didn’t do anything.
Is there any other DIY adjustment trick that maybe moves the hatch towards the left a bit or is the dealer my only recourse? I’ll prob just leave it alone as I’m the only person who will ever notice it 😀

I have the same issue! Door opens/closes/seals without issue, so figured to let this one go. personally, not worth the process and waiting to bring to the dealer.

Upon closer inspection of the hatch alignment, I'm thinking the gate does need to be raised a smidge as I do see significant rubbing in those two lower spots above the bumper on the interior (left and right). That may be what's keeping it from closing in further to tighten the gap on the left. To your point, I'm trying hard to suppress my OCD on this one! Maybe something to look at during the next oil change..

I've had a ton of issues with the lower tailgate flap not synchronizing with the upper tailgate, so they don't close properly. If you're under warranty, I'd just take it in and request a reset of the upper and lower portions as well as an alignment. My dealership sucks so it took 3 separate trips to get mine sorted but it takes me 3 appointments to fix anything properly on this car, so I guess that's par for the course.

Same here with regards to rubbing. My bumper is winning the fight against the "composite" hatch. The hatch is going to have a hole in it eventually... By then the rubbing will have fixed itself haha.

I've had no issues with the gate and the hatch not working.

I have replaced 3 of 4 passenger door latches on this thing so far. Nobody else is having issues with door latches?

No issues with door latches, but I do get wind noise through the front door seals on the highway during significant cross-winds. I did have an incident at the beach where a gust of wind ripped the driver door out of my hand while opening and flung it to its full open stop, and I can visibly see the door is now out of alignment with the body. It honestly looks like the upper window surround frame was bent slightly forward/outward compared to the lower door section. However, I get wind noise through the passenger door seal, which has not had any major "flung open" events, so I'm not sure that is the cause for the wind noise.

As seems to be the norm, the dealership just said there was nothing they could do about it. They even argued with me saying "there is no way wind could bend the door out of alignment" but that is exactly what happened!

For tailgate alignment I'd take it to a body shop rather than the dealer. They do that stuff all the time and it should be a simple alignment
