TCU Location - SOS Limited Functionality
did you drive the vehicle (or just let it run) for 1 hour straight? That is what I needed to do after swapping the battery.
I’ve been driving it mostly everyday. Do you suggest I let it run for an hour without driving it ?
as long as it has been running for 1 solid hour it says it should clear the code on topix once the new battery has been fitted.
I’ve for sure have driven it for a solid hour at a time don’t know what else it could be.
it might just be discharged and needed to be charged up. I know after I swapped mine out even if I cleared the code it would immediately reappear. 7 days is a bit long though. Mine at first would not clear and I needed a long drive over 1 hour for it to go away.
I have the same issue on my RR Sport and have also being looking for a replacement battery. I have found the basic battery PLM1550 on this website
https://www.simpower.co.nz/product/i...m-ion-battery/
Has anyone else come across this or knows anything about the company. According to the website the company is in New Zealand and has the batteries in stock, but they don’t give a price

Hi everyone,
For better or worse I just bought my first LR! An 16 Disco it had been sat for a while (A year). I have an SOS limited functionality error. From the research I have done, 9 times out of 10 it is a backup battery issue with the Telematics unit. I don't have a Specific LR scanner so I cannot look to see if there is a code for the battery failure. My plan of attack is to try and get a replacement battery (From what I see here they can be hard to find). In the mean time pull out the old one and measure the voltage and see if it looks to be less than expected. I guess my three newbe questions are:
1: Is there a generic ODBII code that may show up for this, or an easy way to read the code
2: Is there a conclusion as to what the voltage of the battery should be
3: Is it worth taking things apart to get to the unit to measure the voltage or should I just get a battery change it and see what happens as step 1
Thanks

Does anybody know just how to get rid of the SOS message without replacing the battery at the stealership? IOW can I disconnect something to have it disappear?
While this functionality may have been good once upon a time, the ubiquitousness of cell phones and coverage make this pretty moot in the US or Europe.
Thanks!

Hello- wondering if you ever found a work around for the SOS message? I have the error, paid to have battery replaced and now they say there is a short in the wiring and the TCU unit needs to be replaced ($2500). I don't need this function or use it, wondering how to clear the error/message. Thanks!!
