Default Thinking....help me...

Brought my D-5 in for the $180.00 oil change and while I was there they took in off lease a 2018 Range Rover. It only has 16,000 miles. It would be a certified so warranty to 100,000 and 2025.
It's the 380 HP 6 cyl. and is immaculate. HSE so it has lots of the good stuff. Took a quick spin and it moves right along and didn't have the heavy feeling the regular RR had that wasn't air ride.

What do you guys think? Other than my trade only worth 46,000 and coming up with 31,000 more cash.......

Full size, I wouldn't even consider the sport as it is about the same interior size as my D-5

Honestly I would probably go for it, especially given the extended warranty. I would see what they can in terms of what you have to pay on top of the D5.
The only reason I would not consider upgrading to the RR is if you do a lot of off-road (just too nice) or need 3 proper rows of seats. They do look sweat.

Sport is the same size as the D5? Do you mean rear seat dimensions? I am pretty sure the D5 has more cargo space than the full size RR.

I have been driving a full size RR HSE P400 for almost two weeks and I miss my HSE Si6 D5, can’t wait to get it back from the dealer. I back up into my garage and the dimensions are so close that I am using the exact same floor markings to get intro the best position.

Positives for the RR:
- The P400 is noticeably smoother and more powerful, but I assume a part of that is different tuning vs the D5. The on/off feature is actually difficult to detect it’s that smooth.
- The rear seats have noticeably more leg space. But I know that’s cause the D5 third row is actually usable. However, I prefer the Defender second row vs the RR and Discovery.
- Is has lock buttons in the rear doors (my wife’s comment)

Pros for the D5:
- The driver layout is more thought out even though it is similar to the RR. More arm space, the cup holders can hold two cell phones and larger coffee cups..and other little things
- More storage. Huge side pockets, storage behind the screen and space underneath it
- Dedicated buttons for some functions instead of going through the screen on the RR
- I actually like the soft materials (what is it?) used on the D5 (and used more throughout the new Defender). I am not a fan of the RR interior materials other than the seats and stitching.
- My wife wife would add the ISO fix points for child seats make life easier
- Lastly, in Seattle there are lots of RRs but D5s are still unique...I think it looks better.

I can’t compare them off road since I have kept the RR in the city, but I can only praise the D5.

Yeah...still wrasslin with the switch. I have only used the 3rd. row once in a couple years...I would like a trailer hitch, which the RR doesn't have but could be added.. I have a jet ski I tow a couple times a year and a landscape trailer I used 4-5 times a year to haul mulch. I came off 5 Chevy Avalanche's and a Yukon Denali so the D-5 has always felt a little small.
Test drive all day today so....

Lots of intersting perspectives... I use the third row fairly often and it's how we ended up with the D5 after my wife's twin turbo Lincoln MKT got nailed... if we didn't need the 3rd row, I may have pushed toward a Velar if I could handle not having a low range tcase... sure looks good though. RR AND RRS's are everywhere around here... but discos are fairly rare... not a huge factor for us but maybe some factoring. Avalanche?!?!.. we still have our 04 Escalade EXT "Escalanche"... this may be the most versatile vehicle I've ever owned... and it's old so we can beat on it like any truck...
Can they do better than 77k? Can you offer a better number and see if they can make it work? Trade ins are the big money makers for dealers so I'd bet they have some good wiggle room.

Well...It was almost 2K under book and it sold. I guess I am slightly disappointed although not horribly.
The hardest part was the book on mine. 45,000 and I paid 72 K 2 years ago. I am going to do the ext. warranty on the disco. The 3K will be worth no worries for 6 years and 100,000 miles. It's transferrable which is huge on resale.
