Default Topix factory manual access gone?

A few years back I logged in and purchased shop manual access by the hour for a fee for my 2017 D5. I downloaded a bunch of useful stuff and haven’t needed it since. I just tried the link again to look up something on my 2018 and now it appears it’s not available unless you are authorized by JLR. Is access by the hour still available? I can’t find a link for it.

I’ve searched the forum looking for the 2018 HSE front brakes and can find anyone who has done them with instructions. They are the closed back kind so the caliper has to be removed to change the pads. Figure the factory manual may be more informative. I did see a post about the caliper removal but not pad change.

Thanks! I did find that posted by someone else but it doesn’t cover the pads. Wanted to understand how the press fit pad retainer pins worked since I’ve not seen that on any other brakes I’ve worked on. One YouTube for a Range Rover showed them being driven out but didn’t know if that is best done before or after the caliper is off the disk. Turns out the new replacement pins go back in more easily than the old ones coming out, which takes a hammer, drift and vise grips. I was looking for the part of the manual that would show removal and installation of those pins. I searched the forum for anyone else who had done it and found great info with the open back calipers, but not these.

I’m also still curious about access to Topix for an hourly fee so I could get this info myself like I did for my 2017.

I just tried and was able to login without issue. What error are you getting? A few weeks back I had to email support to reset my account due to a tech issue. They fixed it within 24 hours.

As an alternative, you can also buy monthly or annual subscriptions to ALLDATAdiy (https://www.alldata.com/diy-us/en?ut...SAAEgJB2PD_BwE).

Has basically all the info in Topix but a bit easier to navigate. Also can get a month of access for the price of a few hours. I use this for all my cars and only go to Topix occasionally.

Thank you for this! I didn’t realize Alldata had a DIY product! Bought the year with a 20% discount for under $50. And quickly found what I was looking for. Looks like their source is Topix but indeed way easier to find things, and includes what the costs would be if I took it to a dealer!

Yes, I’ve found it to be a good product. Think they released it in the last few years or so. Always seem to be running a promotion. Was able to buy annual subscriptions for all three of my cars for under $100. In each case looks like everything is just copied from the factory manuals. Haven’t had to log in to JLRTopix, erWin, etc. since.
