Had to make an impromptu trip to Iowa last weekend and put about 2,200 miles round-trip on my MY20 Td6 D5. Used Opti-Lube 4oz shots with every fill; 2oz Summer Additive, 1oz lubricity additive, and 1oz cetane boost. The best mileage (via the computer) was just over 31.2mpg over 4 hours averaging 64mph. I otherwise like by Hot Shot's Secret Everyday Diesel Treatment but wanted to use up my stash of OL.

As for the tires, I now have just over 6,000 miles on them and especially after our long trip into Iowa, I can fully attest to how well these tires ride and handle. I routinely set the cruise at 80mph and a few times ran up in the high 80's trying to dodge various eighteen-wheelers. The tires are very quiet, handle excellent, have excellent off-road traction while retaining refinement on the pavement. I would highly recommend these tires to anyone and would go so far as to suggest to JLR that they ought to be standard fare from Nitra.

255/50/20 or 255/55/20? Looking at the picture, I think it's the latter, no?

 

Those were pics from back in May when I just put the tires on at about 175 miles on the odometer. I ordered the truck in December and it came in towards the end of April. New vehicle temp tags here in Texas are usually only good for 60 days so if you haven't received your plates yet, give your dealer a call and ask them where they are at. Frankly, most dealers wait to do them all in batches usually by month, so once you hit the next month say maybe around the middle of the next month, you can usually give them a call and ask where they are and they will get them to you.

You are correct, I had the incorrect aspect ratio in my sig; corrected now. They are the OE size for the 20" wheels, 255/55R20's.

 

Thanks for the reviews. I had some good luck with their MTs in the past. Looking at these ATs in 275/55/20 for the D5 soon. Hopefully these last longer than the Pirellis, ours are 22k miles and probably only good for 30k.

 

I have the Perellis and I’ll say this. Crawling under the truck I’m very concerned with clearance from 275/55 tires rubbing against the A-arm. Mud can cake there pretty easily. Can’t get a finger in the gap. Packed mud could cause some issues fast.

 

I joined the Toyo A/T 3 club today. The KO2s don’t have great reviews on snow and ice and the Nitto Ridge Grapplers aren’t even snow rated. So the Toyos were an easy call, I will need them for the mountain passes.

The tint is legal, we can go down to 24% in WA.

 

What size did you get?

 

255/55/20 - I didn’t want to go wider than stock since I want better compact snow/ice traction.

 

Headed to the colder snowier eastern part of WA this past weekend and I think the Disco on Toyos did great. Lots of compact ice and snow to test them on, which my wife did not appreciate! Temps were between the teens and freezing. It was a long road trip and I did not notice any extra noise beyond that of my roof box. I will keep the Toyos year round instead of making the seasonal switch to winters.

I give the tires 1/5 puckers, with 1 pucker being “Hmm, that was interesting.” and 5 puckers being “I just **** my pants.”

Bonus, my wife finally noticed the supercharger while overtaking on the mountain passes.
