Default Transmission fluid change

I was checking for the transmission pan and filter on FCP euro and when I checked it’s showing land rovers and bmws have the same one is this right? Link below
https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw-ga8hp45z-ga8hp70z-oil-pan-and-filter-kit-zf-24118612901#fitment
any advice would help.

I believe the pan would fit. Both vehicles have the ZF transmission. I'd email or call FC Euro just to be sure but I would be comfortable using this item on my D5.
That's a great price. The fluid will be a lot more though. I plan to do the service myself later this summer or next fall when I reach 60K miles. I have already set myself up to be able to read the transmission fluid temperature via OBDII. I believe I posted the steps to do that already.

I just confirmed with FCP Euro that the Lifeguard 8 fluid is compatible with our ZF transmission even though it isn't listed in the fitment table. They plan to correct their table.

After buying a new ZF transmission pan and a case of ZF-specified AMSOIL synthetic ATF, my dealer service adviser said that the transmission should never be flushed. Taking his word for it at present but will revisit that issue when I hit 100k miles (just had the 48k service done).

I think they'd just like to sell you a new Land Rover. I've heard not to flush a vehicle with lots of miles that's never been serviced. I would think ZF knows more about their transmissions than Land Rover does. I'd go by ZF's recommendation. I did have this service performed (pan, filter, fluid) on my BMW with ZF transmission at 60K miles (a 7 speed ZF, not the 8 speed in the LR). Now at 83K and it's still shifting perfectly.

Can you provide vectors to a reference document from ZF that has transmission maintenance requirements? Thanks!
