Default Trouble with the latest software update?

Anyone else experiencing sound issues since the latest update, with Waze in particular? I feel like I've tried everything, and still no sound from Waze when connected (cable)....

I have had 3 issues so far:

1. No sound for driving directions on Apple Maps ever.
2. No sound at all on radio/usb or anything one time I started the car and when going to media screen showing an mp3 playing it was stuck at 00:00 time and skipping tracks would cause the same, it would never start to play. But not just an mp3 issue as no sound from radio either and volume **** did nothing (ie the volume level indicator never showed).
3. CarPlay keeps taking over even when I go back to the LR Home Screen and select say Navigation, after a few seconds it goes back to CarPlay. Tried two different cables (both almost new) but granted only one iPhone (latest model and software). Doesn’t always do it but I’d say 2 out of 3 times. Not sure who to blame on that one.

I've had a similar experience...Carplay takes over and shuts off the radio...I have to go back through the menus to start it again (usually works, sometimes not). I've tried different phones, different cables as well.

I had an intermittent CarPlay issue for a while. Tried a different cable and still didn't work. Then I used compressed air to blow out the little socket on the bottom of my iPhone and it has been perfect since. Turned out some lint got stuck in there and the cable wasn't 100% into the phone - so it would stop and restart CarPlay (and take over the screen) frequently.

That’s a good idea, I’ll give that a go!

I've had similar issues with this update. Audio from Apple directions is silent and the cross traffic warning beeps when in reverse are silent. The cross traffic indicator lights up, but no warning beeps from it now.
This is the second time I've lost different sounds because of an update. The first time, I lost all of the Land Rover voice notifications and feedback. The dealership corrected it with another update that time.
Side note: soft tipped dental picks work great to clean out the lint from the charging port of the phone.

Today, I tested a quick theory. Normally, the phone always gets plugged in immediately after starting. Instead, I held off and backed down the driveway hoping for some traffic. Luckily, two cars from opposite directions were passing and the cross traffic notification alerted and sounded out as expected. It seems that something with this update and aspects of CarPlay don't interact well.

Blasting the iPhone connector with compressed air seems to have fixed my issues, or at least it didn’t play up today.

Great if that fixed it. Mine has been perfect since I did that.
