Default Turn off seat belt chime

Been bugging me for a while since we have along driveway and sometime I need to get out to get mail or packages, then really don't feel like buckling up to drive into the garage. The annoying ding is irritating when you have to drive a bit.

Either rate for those who feel like turning it off, here are the instructions I found on Facebook and worked for me.

Get in driver seat.
Close door.
Turn on ignition, but don't start the D5 (no foot on brake pedal).
Leave in Park.
Hold down the red release button on the seat belt clip.
Slowly slide the seat belt buckle in and out of the clip 10 times till you hear a chime.
(I did the slide in and out taking 1-2 seconds between each repetition).
Turn the D5 off and it should be silent next time you drive.

Do note the seat belt light seems to stay off on the IP after you do this. It comes on when you start the D5, but then turns off. No longer does it flash and the chime comes on.

Amazing find! I hate it when I’m at the beach fishing and have to put it on to change spots

Worked great. Thanks. That's a feature my 06 LR3 had (no chime).

Makes me wonder - what other things I can turn on or off like this.

Worked great! I used the same procedure to turn off the passenger chime too. This way the wife can attend to the dog in the back seat without the chime driving us crazy!
Thanks!!

Awesome, thanks for this! Any work around to permanently disable the engine start/stop function. I hate pushing the button every time I drive the car.

Sorry have not seen anything for that, would love to get that turned off as well.

It was great to have the seatbelt chime off when going offroading. So many times you don’t need a seatbelt and have to get in and out a lot.

After doing this, I noticed the airbag light above the rear view mirror no longer illuminates. Also, the seat occupant diagram in the instrument panel no longer exists. I wonder if turning off the seatbelt chime affects other safety features. For peace of mind I repeated the procedure and the seatbelt chime restored, along with the airbag indicator and seat occupant diagram.

Interesting, I will check on mine to see. Not sure how it affects the safety features, but now that you mention it I did notice it no longer shows the 2/3rd row seat occupant diagram for wearing seat belts.

Just checked mine with the seat belt chime turned off. Still have normal function of the Air Bag light above the mirror. I don't believe my occupancy indicator showing which seats have seat belts fastened still appears.

Thought this was too weird to be true. The nanny chime drives me nuts. Been a week and I love it! Thanks for sharing.
