If you do get a brake controller (easy to install see other threads) make sure you set it up correctly with the right gain settings for your trailer. We found some trial and error needed there but that's best not done on an uphill 12% grade in Death Valley as we did. We ended up in the TD6's "Restricted Performance Mode" because trailer brakes were dragging - controller thought my uphill driving style needed brakes applied at odd times. After adjustment (thank you Airstream Las Vegas!) we had no problems in 5000 miles up and down the American West last summer.

Might as well add this here but I've made another post
Hi Still deciding on buying a trailer came around this 5500 lb dry and 6900lb GVWR jayco and the only issue is the tongue weight its 730lbs would this be safe to tow or just drop it?

I regularly tow 6k plus in the hills of western Virginia. This is a great towing vehicle, but my only complaint is since it is unibody the hitch makes a lot of noise.

Try a Curt Rockerball-I have tested one of these and I found it was quite effective at dampening noise:https://www.curtmfg.com/part/40047
