Just found out from my dealer...after me hounding them for a wind noise for a year now, there is a bulletin on the sunroof. Going in Tuesday and I'll update you.

 

TSB went out in July 2019. Dealer should have known.

Yeah....sounds about right. This is the service we get because he is the only LR dealer within 120 miles of here....
Annoying to say the least.

 

This looks different from the leaking windshield, I thought these two issues were related.

 

The dealer has had it since last Thursday. I am hopefully picking it up tomorrow and will let you know. I do think they are related.
BTW they gave me a 2020 Velar to use....not impressed.

 

I put a few hundred miles on a loaner Velar. For the price of a Velar I have a lot nicer vehicle in my Discovery. I realize they are different but I'm much happier in my D5.

 

I considered one before ultimately going with the Discovery and they were very similarly priced as specced.
I liked the dual screens in the Velar to look at but in practice preferred the controls in the D5.
I did think the Velar interior looked like more modern luxury as it’s less fussy, but the Disco looked more solid.
On the outside the Velar does look more upmarket but I don’t like its proportions. It’s rear doors look too long for its height. Like a very Evoque stretched, which is what it is.
The Discovery is on the higher end platform and that makes it a better deal in my opinion, plus it’s more practical. I also favor its comfort over the Velars sportiness. Finally, the Velar I looked at had a hi-po turbo engine which I hated although I know you can get the supercharged 6.
I can understand why some would choose the Velar over the D5 but I made the right choice for me.

 

Still waiting for dealer to return mine..They are still working in the software with the "UK" or so they say...

 

Just took mine in for the leaking windshield and they had two recalls including a software one. I needed it so pulled it out but they are going to pick it up even and perform the recalls later next week.

 

UPDATE...
After having mine for over a week...they want it for another week. I hate the RR Velare I picked up mine for the weekend and I guess...I'm dropping mine back off for the next week.
UGH....BTW the wind noise coming from somewhere near the sunroof is still there...They said they did the new seal kit and adjustment...They said...
