11 years and still going
Long time Discovery owner (02) and new here. I've been driving my truck around the PNW for 11 years and even though I have 140k on it now, I hope to keep it going for another few years. In fact, maybe even pull a small camp trailer around. It's probably going to get a bit spendy to keep it going, but I really don't want to drive anything else. The old girl has been a great ride. We use the hell out it, even pulling trees around with the winch and other odd things and she's always come through.
I'm retired now and and will attempt a few repairs on my own, but I'm definitely a half assed mechanic at best and so hope to come here for advice when things crop up. At the moment, I'm most interested in learning about what to expect next given her mileage. I like to get things fixed before they blow up, if possible.
Seems to me that driving these things is as much an exercise in practical philosophy as much as anything else, and I hope to add to the discussion on these forums as time goes on. Thanks.
