Default 2001 lr d2 $900 for. Brake master cylinder?

Im about to buy my first 4wd.
The sons dad took it to a local mechanic for an updated rwc and
he want $900 to replace 1 tail light and master brake cylinder.
No mention of the front tyres need to be changed. There a few mm from
The wear pattern.
No mention of oil leaks from the top of engine and l & r hand sides.
This mechanic doing the rwc must want me to report him cause $900
To replace a light globe and a master cylinder plus the certificate smells
Like total horse s$$$.

Am I right or does it cost $900 for a globe, brake master cylinder and a rwc.

LR discovery 2 td5 around 180,000km

I'm not sure I know what a RWC is, if I'm being honest.

Also, in what country is the work being done?

RWC would be a rear wheel cylinder or caliper. I'm guessing caliper since it had disc brakes standard in the back.

To me it sounds high but I don't frequently use a mechanic

Yeah, sorry I can't help more. I couldn't speak accurately as to what things should cost there. You might want to try Australian Land Rover Owners - AULRO.com, which is an Australian Land Rover forum.
