Just bought it today, didn't look before I leaped but that's okay, always wanted one of these.

A couple of quick questions:

Motor seems to be running hot although the temp gauge is right in the middle. When the a/c is on, I'm getting warm air blowing from the lower vents, but nice and cold from the upper. Is this possible a mode door actuator problem?

Second Question:

Upon take off there is a slight blue smoke trail. Nothing excessive, but I'm wondering if this might be a valve issue. Motor seems to run fine but a little 'heavy' no knock but just not smooth. Haven't had a V8 in 10 years so wasn't sure how this was supposed to sound.

Third is more general:

I'm seeing issues surrounding a transmission problem on the net that should be fixed before it blows the transmission. Not sure if this was ever done on the vehicle as there weren't any service records. Are there some specific maintenance actions I can take to forestall any majors? Also seems like my VIN falls in the range of a bad oil pump and was wondering if that could be contributing. Is there a way to visually check to see if it was replaced?

I noticed there are some aftermarket products, air intake, plugs, etc., that might help with mileage, and I was wondering what was worth trying.

Apologies in advance for so many queries....just kind of throwing myself into this new toy. I can twist a wrench, and if there's a diagram can fix most anything and was looking for some wisdom from a few sage fellows.
