New LR owner of an 06' LR3 SE in Canada. Using the vehicle for hunting and winter commuting. My vehicle history is mostly German, with some Swedish and Italian (motorcycles). I do most of my own wrenching and hope to contribute here.

I am in Toronto, want to get a used one for camping; prefer diesel but they are hard to come by. Any suggestions please )

 

There were no diesel LR3/4 available in North America. I did see an imported diesel 5 speed D2 for sale in the Ottawa area a little while ago, but it needed a bit of body work. Might still be on kijiji.

Great, need to drive up to Guelph when my diesel 335d is out of storage from winter to learn from you folks. A high roof Land Rover seem perfect for camping.

I plan to drive down to Point Pellee, Chatham area this May to do some bird watching; will see if you have time to meet up for coffee.

All this talk about high maintenance and reliability issue is a concern, and not many garages able to fix these things.
