D2 owner with dreams...
Hello all, longtime lurker converted here.
I have a 2000 D2 with 125k on it. Been driving it for about 15k... Bought the beast from Brent in MD who was a former LR tech. He had rebuilt the heads, put a 3" terrafirma lift on it (tf pro comp shocks, hd tf springs), 1" body lift, an upgraded Watts linkage, TF front winch bumper, front diff guard, relocated washer bottle, 16" steelies, and 33" maxxis big horners with the switched up spare mount. And he had welded on a little tab so you could manually lock it up from underneath. And no amigos. Sorry amigos. Thanks Brent!

Since then I've (after great lurking success)
15w-30 shell Rotella with 3" purolator
Safety Devices roof rack (the one that lets the sunroofs open)
Greg Davis rear bumper (not yet installed or even painted, get to it later)
Terrafirma adjustable tie rod, drag link, and panhard arm (going in soon)
4 bolt u jointed rear drive shaft (also not in)
New lower steering column
Ha ha oh, and real made out of metal diff filler plugs.
So at this point the truck runs great, shifts great and could climb a tree. Buuuut it doesn't drive so good. Steering wheel is clocked a bit left, lots of play in the steering, some rumbling from under the floor at low speed and then again at high speed, and oil all over the rear shocks. But I think I've got all that figured out.
I'm really trying to crank up my everyday crawler into a real deal expedition vehicle to take on the TAT in 2016. So I def have quite a few more things to do to it.
Definitely
a CB radio (10-4 PigPen)
More armor
Dual battery system
Winch
And maybe upgraded axles because boy it rolls down a hill real quick even in locked low with the downhill decent on...
With that said. Please tear me apart. I will only use your comments to build a better Disco.
Oh yeah. And we'll get on the two 71 Series 2a's later. My thumbs hurt.

You need:
1. locker in rear and another in front if you follow somebody with 35" plus tires.
2. Upgraded radiator and electric fans.
3. I assume you have extended brake lines with a 4" lift.
4. Rock sliders/tree bars.
5. Recovery gear and tools.
6. I also assume you have deleted the rear anti-sway bar since you have the modified watts link.
7. Front anti-sway bar disconnects.
It probably drives "funny" because you have so much lift. Put it on a trailer and you won't notice it.

replace the panhard and drag link ,then have it aligned.(cocked steering wheel)
unless you like climbing under the truck for the cdl i would install a shifter.
at 33" your kind of maxed out the stock gearing
