Default Dead Forum

Is this forum dead? I sold my disco 2 a few years back and departed the forum page. I’ve recently purchased a 2013 LR4 and returned to the forum. Though visiting, it feels like the forum is dead. I don’t see a ton of activity

Probably most members are out driving or hitting the trails.

I hope that’s the case but looking at discussions and posts it doesn’t appear that way.

what can I say?? there are times when no one posts because they are busy with life, kids, or other problems (or fun) it doesn't mean the forum is dead, just taking a break. I drove my D1 2 weeks ago, first time out in almost 2 years. It ran great with no issues, except a CEL which came up with an emissions error. I assume it was from the gas which was 2 years old. No big deal and now it is back in the parking place ready to be tarped until the next time I need it. No reason to ask questions, or post about it as I know what it needs and everything is fine. I still enjoy my D1 and don't plan on getting rid of it, just don't need to drive it right now. I did plenty of work on it to get it to this point, now I just enjoy it. If a question comes up that I can assist with, I will post. Otherwise I just see what others are doing.

Dead? no, just taking a break.

There's 1039 folks looking at the Dll forum right now. Basically, a ton of readers. Most issues can be searched out and solved...without even posting. Face it, everythings been solved or hashed out or beat to death. The LR3, LR4 and 2020 Defender sections seem to have the most traffic. Builds are just about obsolete. Use to be my go-to section...now...about three or four active builds. Facebook groups have probably taken away most folks.

Personally, it's rare if l get involved in a post anymore. You get tried of typing out a lengthy reply to someone's issue...only to have them never come back and read it, or they do, but never reply? Usually, might jump into a Dll issue post...if it's gone on for a while and they're just not making any headway...or it's someone that's been here a long time. Heck, you want to see dead...go to the Defender section. All l can say is...take a book to read.

Yeah, ten years ago...this was a hopping place and traffic was hectic. Now...it's pretty peaceful and quiet.

Anywho, congratulations on the new rig.

That’s too bad. I remember surfing this forum top to bottom when I had my d2, now that I have the LR4 I was hoping to jump back in. I don’t want have to deal with FB groups, but alas it feels like that’s where I will have to go

I would guess they have gotten better over the years, less problems.
