Default Disco fever: A newbie’s introduction

Greetings,

I’ve had three jeeps in the past with the wonderful experience of community and garage life. However something was always missing with the Jeep. It was great, sure. Fun, reliable and capable once built. Again it left me wanting.

I had always loved discoverys and even went to the dealer several times to check them out back in the early 2000s. Fast forward 10-15 years and I found myself in the position I’ve dreamt about. The hunt for a used Disco 2 to love and cherish as my own.

I picked up this 2001 Discovery 2 for a good price with 120k miles and in beautiful shape. I’m the third owner and it has a history of taking families to soccer games.

The rear suspension has been replaced with coils, and aside from some minor leaking from the head gaskets, it’s mechanically sound. It’s quiet, sophisticated and the joy I’ve had driving it the last three days trumps the decade of being behind the windshield of a Jeep.

Im a fan for life and have a feeling this will not be my only rover.

I just ordered all the service supplies needed based on disco mike’s plan and will begin that on Tuesday.

Glad to be here

Branon

Welcome to the forum. Nice looking rover. Congrats, and yes they can be addictive...and frustrating at the same time.
