Disco II from Indiana
Hello everyone,
I'm from Indiana and have quite recently just purchased not only my first Land Rover, but my first vehicle. Being that there are little to no Landy owners around here, I took to the Internet and found this site. Here's a little back story on this Rover...
This is a 1999 Land Rover Discovery Series II I found on Craigslist in the Indianapolis area, when I first went to check this thing out, it was immaculate, I looked all over and found almost no flaws with the interior and exterior other than minor cosmetic wear and tear expected with a vehicle of this age. The engine bay was brilliantly clean and it was a well maintained vehicle with all the paperwork to prove it. I liked it so much I decided to continue and take it for a test drive... but... It wouldn't start when I tried. To make this extremely long story short, I decided I wasn't going to get this Disco and continued my search for 2 more weeks... Nothing to be found in similar condition. I called the guy who had it back up and agreed to have it towed 40 miles south... After an expensive towing bill ($375.50), I had decided to replace the CKS Sensor and voila! It started right up and still runs amazingly 2 weeks later. I talked this guy down from $3,500 to just under $2K and it was only a $60 dollar fix. I think I pretty lucky with this beast.
I'm looking forward to spending my time here on these forums learning all I can about my Disco and seeing other Rovers in the community! Thanks guys!
