hello there from Indiana
Just joined!
Anyways, about myself: I come from an 15+ yrs of "shade tree tech"
experience with Volvos, from 140s to 850s (last owned was an '95 854 Turbo, which I've sold after rebuilding the motor+upgraded the turbo; glad I was to put a smile on some young blood's face with that 5.8 secs 0-60 time!!!), which I've always repaired/destroyed myself (very proud of it, even if sometimes the resulting rental car expenses went overboard abit...
)
About 2 yrs ago, I've decided I became too old for that speed stuff, so I adventured into Rovers (a wet dream of mine since I was about 12).
I owned two RR classics, which I sold not long ago, so I'm now left with my DD ('95 Discovery)and an '96 Disco parts truck, which was rolled over by someone else, mind you!
My next purchase will definitely be an -'95 Defender.
BTW: The cutout date for all my vehicle purchase will always be the production yr of '95, because the OBDII doesn't agree with my stomach very well... hope I didn't offend any OBDII owners here!
I looked high&low for an '95 for close to 3 yrs, until I ran into my present DD about 1.5yrs ago (literally, just driving down the street, after dropping off a snafu kinda of a date... what about that destiny thingy, huh?)
Oh yeah: I don't have much off-roading experience,but I'm hoping to catch up on that fast: we're forming a off-roading club these days, which comes with the benefit of being able to use about 2.5 acres of farmland for the purpose of training grounds... soon after we'll be done cleaning up lotsa of nasty bushes/weeds, and crab apple trees
. Looking forward to post my first off-roading experiences videos soon!
Good to meet y'all!
