Discovery 04 Overheating when AC on
Hi everyone,
My 04 Disco is been going all the way up to 230° F when I turn the AC on. With no AC temperature stay under 200° and can go up to 210° in when Las Vegas is about to get burned.
Let me make a list of my scenario:
- Discovery 2 2004, 148k
- 4.6L. With engine oil cooler
- 33s
- New head gasket
- New clutch fan
- New radiator
- New coolant / sistem was flashed / green Prestol
- New inline 170° thermostat
- Serpentine belt inspected looks good
- Water pump inspected good
Today a mechanic fixed my AC because the high was over charged and I thought fixing it will help. The AC was charged properly according to the lr instructions. It didn't make any difference, my temperature still reaching 230° when AC is on.
With no AC my temperature stay under 200° . Any idea will be much appreciated. Thank you.

First thing is... why is your fan shroud cut back to expose the fan????
that might be the problem. The fan won't be able to draw adequate air across the radiator fins to cool.

That's a Chevy fan with new viscous clutch replacing the original and only make -2° difference compared with original, the shroud was trimmed because this fan was touching the top a little bit. I leave it like this because again it didn't make any difference.
