Default First time LR3/D3 owner

Well, 15 years after selling my '95 D1 (biggest mistake I ever made), I'm back in the LR family with a 2006 LR3. After many patient months of sitting on Cars & Bids, BAT, Kelley etc, I found this LR3 locally. Two owner (SoCal, CO) 74,000 miles. Extensive service history. Sounded too good to be true. 10 min test drive, crawled under the thing to look for anything obvious.....and wrote the (Nissan) dealer a check for the 9 grand they were asking. They put on new Goodyears, thermostat and housing plus a water pump. The water pump made me nervous re: Possible history of overheating. Took it to a very trusted indy here in CO for a post purchase inspection - the beast needs tie rod ends and sway bar bushings. That's it. Air bags dated stamped 4/06. I think I'm right in feeling rather lucky to have found this - let's see how long that feeling lasts.

I ran my D1 for 80,000 miles - other than the required fluid changes, tyres etc it only needed a new steering damper in 8+ years. Brilliant truck, embarrassed the lifted Jeep community on the trail on more than one occasion. The LR3 probably won't see too many off road trails but plenty of mountain/snow packed roads.

Any advice gratefully received. I am way out of my depth with the technology on this rig (there are these things called coil packs on the end of the spark plugs and the distributor is very well hidden &#128518. Happy to receive comments beginning with, "You got lucky BUT......"
