George The Landy
Hello,
It’s good to be part of this forum, my name is Gary and I have a Land Rover Series IIA 109 that I have been gently restoring. I’m the third owner and now find myself with an annoying problem (that I may have created). I have just restored the bulkhead and instrument gauges. I took photos before removing the gauges to ensure I had all the wires in the right place. I even used tape to colour code and mark them as a double precaution.
However, having reconnected it what I now find is when I turn the main beam on the lights are on full time as they should be but the brake lights are also on full time now too.
Does anyone have any thoughts on why the brake lights are on full time?
Thanks and looking forward to being part of this forum.

Nice vehicle choice and welcome to the forum. What I think you’ve probably done is connect the brake light wires into the back of the ignition/light switch assembly.
For future technical questions you should post them in the “Series “ part of this forum. This section is mainly to introduce yourself.
