Glad to be a member of the club.
I sold my 3rd Gen 4-Runner this morning and bought an '04 Vienna Green Disco SE Trail Edition. I was sold during the first 2 minutes of the test drive, what a difference from that Toyota. 102k miles with a stack of maintanence records. I am the 3rd owner and the records were the selling point. I looked at lower priced Discos, but thought the piece of mind knowing it was taken care of was worth the extra money. I believe the Trail Edition is just bolt ons like the brush guard with driving lights, the taillight guards and the ladder. Does it consist of anything else? I plan on using it for commuting in bad weather, hauling my 3 dogs, towing my 2 quads and some light off roading. Looking forward to learning all about this vehicle. I like to do most work on my own cars, I own BMW's also, so it is sort of a necessity.
I am still in search of my baby ~ I don't know when or where I will find it... can't decide on the year to commit to either... all I seem to find are black/black or black/tan.
You will soon see that the posters here on this site are amazing with sharing their knowledge and experience...drink it in, my friend! Drink it in!

I am in LOVE with that white/tan 2003, but the dealer was SUCH a jerk, I don't know that I would take it if he GAVE it to me!!
(no, that's a lie, I would definitely take it haha)
He would not budge on his price. $8995. That beauty had a VIN within the "bad" range, too. He said to me ~ can you believe it ~ "I'm not going to let you test drive the car if you think you are going to haggle with that price. My price is FIRM, and if you don't like it, you can leave."
??????
Omg. what is WITH people?!

And get this, I am not a cowering female, and I am 5'11" so I naturally towered over him "just a bit"... lol... I didn't say anything except that I could pay cash up to around $7000-7500 but not willing to pay what he was asking.
After he said what he did to me, I said, "okay, you know that the 2003s were a lemon year for this model, right? and there is an issue with pin alignment that causes the oil pump to go early... right?"
he repeated that the price is firm, he will not lower himself to "haggle" the price, and if I didn't like it I could leave. The VIN was within the sour range, but I didn't even get to ask if the engine had been replaced or not.
:| I was so mad. But, I was in my scrubs, hair down, had a long day, and I didn't think he was worth my time to argue or inform.
He said the vehicle had 83k miles on it, but I think it sorta ticked him off when I said "no it doesn't, it has 96k" haha and he said okay whatever, 100k or less...
he was a total douchebag. booo! I am certain it was a cultural thing, as his particular culture is known for making the woman walk 10 feet behind the man and stuff like that...
