Hi my daughter has a 1997 Land Rover I put new brakes on it. But the brake shoe almost goes to the floor. Do I need to bleed the brakes? The brake peddle very soft. Also the ABS light is still on and the brake light

1st welcome aboard.
2nd start with bleeding if they were completely worn they may have gotten hot. you may have a caliper issue. but start with bleeding. wouldn't hurt to flush the fluid if it has been in there for a while and if it has been cooking.

that's what I would do.
1. suck out the old from the reservoir (as much as you can)
2. put in new fluid
3 start with wheel that is farthest from reservoir
4. while daughter pushes the pedal....do the "open till pedal down, close" dance until you get some good fresh fluid coming out (remember to keep the reservoir filled)
5. next farthest and so on
