Had a fling with a Bronco-can I come back?
So I was seduced away from my LR3 by a wee filly with 2 doors, and she is topless right now....but she's a bit basic, can't tow for nothing really and she's a noisey bitch on the highway. The infatuation has run its course and I think I'm ready to crawl back to LR and ask for forgiveness.
And if I am granted forgiveness, shall I hook up with a LR4, or try to go all the way to Disco 5? The 2017's are getting down to a mostly acceptable price range. We do like to go play around off road, 2 tracks, Drummond Island, and UP trails. I suppose I could get a J#*p but that's way too ordinary.
Guess it's good that I kept my GAP tool eh?

I did the same and immediately regretted it... Had a Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland with the Hemi and while it was great initially, missed everything LR has to offer! I've had an LR3, LR4 and currently have a D5 TD6. I would buy all 3 over again, but have really enjoyed the D5 experience. Super comfortable and roomy to haul gear, great roadtrip car, super capable off road, fuel economy with the diesel is amazing (even with oversized tire), and the maintenance has been ridiculously cheap... only have had to do 5-6K oil changes and fuel filter every other oil change. Do it, do it, do it...
I'm not in love with the D5's rather blandish looks, but the performance seems like it's better than the bus run. The price is also coming down a bit. Will consider the beast for sure.
Was looking at a LR4, then a $500 LR3 came up in my sights, and now it looks like we are buying a 2019 Disco Sport. So, 2 Rovers in the patch already!
We did sell her Bronco Sport. Be aware they have some impending issues with the rear diffs that are going to bite some owners big time. The diff vent tube is too short, it lets contaminants into the diff and then those contaminants (dirt from offroading and water) chew up the diff. It's a $4K job to swap it out, and Ford isn't telling their customers about it. Wer had our oil cjanged and the tech said it was "pretty gross"
Anyways, the $500 LR3 should be fun, I might make it a thread. Cheers all.

The $500 LR3 had a shifter issue keeping it from going into D, so some PB Blaster and some precussive persuation got me into drive and got the beast home!
Yeah there are some issues, it's been sitting for a yearish outside, and it was originally sidelined due to some problems with the EAS (of course) so the back end is stuck in off-road and the front is sniffing the ground. But damn I sat in that seat and the power flowed smooth out of that Jaaaaag 4.4 and I remembered why I kind of resisted getting the Bronco.
BTW the Bronco is going away.
