Hello
Hello, my name is Kevin and I admit I have a car problem. Well car and truck these days!
I've just bought what is actually my third Land Rover, and I have a long history with the marque having learned to drive on a RHD Series IIa that my uncle owned here in Maine at the tender age of about 12. The first of my own was a completely trashed Series III that was given to me 20-odd years ago that I never got road-worthy. Then three years ago, I bought an '01 Range Rover. Love the Range Rover, but it is a very expensive beast to keep in Maine due to the way annual car tax works here, and it is a very complex thing as well. Mine is quite well behaved, but you never know with these things. My most recent acquisition is a very nice '95 Disco - no options stickshift truck, so pretty much an anvil compared to the P38! One owner truck that spent it's entire life in San Diego - it's *shiny* underneath! So the Disco will replace the Rangie. I do 95% of my own work, so this forum has already been invaluable in learning about the new toy. And oh-so-much friendlier than the Range Rover forum I have been on since I bought that truck! Those guys are brutal...
Otherwise, the garage contains a couple modern BMWs, a 2011 328i wagon and a 2016 M235i, both in stickshift form (there's a pattern here). I also have a much beloved '74 Spitfire that I have owned for more than 20 years. Basically, the Battle of Britain in the garage, and the British are winning!
A bit about me - I'm a 47yo computer engineer/consultant who travels 120+ days a year for work around the US. Insane schedule, but leaves some time for R&R in the garage.
So thanks for all the wonderful information here, and in advance for putting up with me.
