Default Hello from AR

I've been shopping for an "overlander" for 6-8 months now. Was set on Yukon, Tahoe, Sequoia or something similar. Just waiting for the right one to pop up when I spotted this LR3 in incredible condition. Spent the next few hours googling, decided to go check it out, and brought it home last night. Not in a million years did i expect to buy a LR, but here we are. I do not have a ton of money, but I'm decently handy with a wrench, so we will see where this adventure takes us.

It's a 145k mile

2006 HSE V8 with cold weather package, premium sound/nav, and a bunch of other **** i dont understand yet.

Extensive maintenance history. In the last year or so:
  • air compressor replaced
  • serp belt replaced
  • front shocks replaced
  • 4 wheel alignment
  • starter replaced
  • transmission service
  • water pump, thermostat and all hoses for heater etc.
  • coolant reservoir replaced
  • intake manifold replaced
  • radiator replaced
  • front lower control arms replaced
  • and more
So you can probably understand why i decided to give it a shot. Previous owner appeared to be meticulous. Anyway, most of this is me justifying my purchase out loud, but i am really excited to learn everything i can about these trucks!

The LR3 should be a much more capable overlander than the other vehicles you mention. It's good you're handy, as you will need to work on it from time to time, and on this side of the Atlantic there are very few mechanics who are familiar with these rigs.
It looks great.

Where in AR are you located?
There are a few good LR mechanics in Little Rock.

Northwest AR. The previous owner apparently has a local British mechanic, so I will be checking him out.
