Default Hello from Arizona

Hi guys,

New land rover owner from AZ here. Just bought an 08 lr2 with 90k miles. I frankly didn't know all that much about land rover's before the purchase (my wife picked the car). But I was happy with the purchase up until I started hearing/reading about the terrible reliability complaints. So I ask the land rover community... should I honestly be concerned? Should I start putting money in a piggy bank labeled "future land rover repairs".

Well ****, I was hopping for something more along the lines of "Oh thats all hogwash! You'll be fine."

The good thing is I'm capable of doing my own labor, so in reality I'll just have to bite the dust on parts costs if/when the time comes. Well, no point being sour over it. Bring it on land rover haha.

Welcome to the forum. They can be expensive but they are easy to fall in love with.

I'd say that would depend on what your working on......lol!!

On the positive side.......In should be RUST FREE in AZ!!

I find them to be interesting on the engineering side, but once you wrap your brain around it......Mines proving to be like-able. Lots of good knowledge here and support, welcome!

Thanks guys! There's always that initial feeling of going into unknown territories when working on a car you've never been under the hood on. But I find usually after the first time I need to get in there that feeling goes away. I've worked on my bmw 328i, did the ac compressor on that on my own and man oh man that whole process was a pain in the rear, so I'm ready for whatever the land rover's got in store for me.

I'm assuming the starter would be one of the more difficult jobs since you're saying that?
