Hello! Long time lurker new to actually signing up. Over the last year and a half I have built up a Land Rover Disco 2 and have brought it back to its former glory. My pops had a 2003 Disco that had a 4.0 that died. After the trials and tribulations of life the decision was made to return it to rolling on dirt.
My dad is a ex aerospace engineer and current college machine shop professor in his spare time and an old school hotrod enthusiast. Though a LS swap could have been in the cards we ultimately went with the original Bosch 4.6. Since the engine drop it has been outfitted with all armor terafirma has to offer and I’m waiting on the fox distance 2.0 to come back from being back ordered. The transfer case has been upgraded to lock the CDL amongst some other upgrades. This car has taught me a whole lot so far and has been my intro in to turning wrenches. Unlike my father, my skill set is a bit different and I haven’t been building engines all my life. The modifications on the to do list seem to forever continue. Any way, I’m happy to be here finally and super psyched to own a Disco now.
Very nice. Welcome here. There’s nothing really magic about mechanics, it’s mostly common sense. It really helps to like the vehicle you’re working on.
